Growing up in western Pennsylvania, Nick developed a strong work ethic and an appreciation for community and family values. He graduated from Wilmington High School, where he built lifelong friendships and participated in many of the activities and interests that would continue to define him as an adult. Following high school, he attended the New Castle School of Trades, where he pursued training in a field that quickly became one of his greatest passions.
Nick had a deep interest in HVAC and took immense pride in working within the heating and air-conditioning industry. Nick is survived by his loving parents, Jeffrey and Janice Umstead Patterson; his brother, Benjamen Patterson of Boise, Idaho; and his grandfather, Russell K. Umstead of Volant, Pennsylvania. He also leaves behind numerous extended family members, friends, coworkers, and community members who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marvin and Patricia Patterson, and Loretta Umstead, whose memories remained close to his heart throughout his life.

Visitation for Nickolas Andrew Patterson will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at The Smith Funeral Home of Leesburg, located at 1778 Perry Highway, Volant, Pennsylvania.
Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Leesburg ECO Presbyterian Church, 1831 Perry Highway, Volant, Pennsylvania, with Reverend Jeff Hurst officiating. Interment will follow at Leesburg Cemetery.
